With homelessness rising statewide and 627 unhoused people locally, the ministry pairs emergency aid with longer-term financial literacy once families are safely housed.

K-9 Bo safely finds missing 9-year-old in Winston-Salem (myfox8.com) — A Winston-Salem police K-9 named Bocephus helped safely locate a missing 9-year-old Thursday night after officers searched the Goldfloss Street area in bad weather. Using scent-tracking, Bo led officers to a nearby home where the child was found unharmed and reunited with family, marking the dog’s first successful operational track after training.
   

3. Winston-Salem native dancer celebrates 100 years of magic with the Radio City Rockettes in New York City (wxii12.com) — A Winston-Salem–born dancer is living her dream on the Radio City Rockettes line as the troupe celebrates its 100th year in New York City. Raised and trained in Winston-Salem studios and schools, she describes the demanding, glittering Christmas show as a sisterhood built on trust, precision, and shared magic.

Burgaw Middle School teacher named 'Beginning Teacher of the Year' finalist (wwaytv3.com) — A statewide teacher award ceremony is coming to Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem on March 12, 2026, where Burgaw Middle School’s Sophia Foster will be honored as a finalist. The sixth-grade English teacher will join other top beginning educators for leadership sessions in Greensboro and recognition for her work in Pender County Schools.
