Fargo is a place like no other. And whether you grew up here, recently moved to the area or you’re just an occasional visitor, you know that Fargo has its own special traditions and history that make it so unique.
A few things to know:
- Fargo has a thriving music scene, with numerous venues and events throughout the year. One popular venue is The Aquarium, which hosts live music performances ranging from local indie bands to national acts.
- For those who love the great outdoors, Fargo has plenty of options, including the beautiful Lindenwood Park. Explore hiking trails, a golf course and a historic suspension bridge that dates back to the early 1900s.
- The city is also home to the Fargo Air Museum, which features a collection of vintage aircraft and aviation memorabilia. Visitors can see everything from World War II bombers to modern fighter jets up close.
- If you're a fan of the Coen Brothers' movie "Fargo," you might be surprised to learn that most of the film was actually shot in Minnesota, not North Dakota. However, there are plenty of places in Fargo that pay homage to the film, like the Woodchipper exhibit at the Fargo-Moorhead Visitors Center.
- Fargo is a foodie's paradise, with a thriving culinary scene that's worth exploring. From the fresh, locally-sourced cuisine of Luna to the upscale tavern fare of The Boiler Room, there's something for everyone in Fargo's dining scene.
