8-Year-Old's Lemonade Stand Shut Down By Police Due To Lack Of Permit
Organizers of a nearby festival filed a complaint with law enforcement, leading authorities to close down the stand, WJW reported.

ALLIANCE, OH — An 8-year-old in Ohio is back in business after her lemonade stand was shut down by the police.
Asa Baker set up the stand earlier in August outside a business where her father works in downtown Alliance, less than a block from the community’s rib and food festival, according to WJW — until the police shut her down.
Festival organizers filed a complaint with law enforcement, leading authorities to force Asa to close the stand because she did not have a license, police told WJW.

Downtown business owner Eric Strata, who operates Black Sales Liquidation, used a tip jar to collect about $250 to pay for a permit for Asa, WJW reported.
“She’s motivated, she wants to do her own thing, and then they try to shut her down,” Strata said in a video streamed on Facebook. “Well, you know what, Alliance has got her back.”

Asa’s mother wasn’t sure whether her daughter needed a food vendors license, a street permit or a solicitors permit, but nevertheless Asa reopened her stand last week outside Strata’s store, where police confirmed they won’t bother her, according to WJW.
