FOREST PARK, OH — An argument over bedtime took a violent turn when a 15-year-old in Ohio shot his father in the stomach, stole a vehicle, and fled more than 100 miles to his mother’s home in Kentucky, according to FOX 19 NOW.
The boy, who is in eighth grade, was arraigned on felony charges of assault and vehicle theft Monday, and will remain in juvenile detention, for the time being, FOX 19 NOW reported.
The shooting occurred early Wednesday at the father’s home in Forest Park, according to FOX 19 NOW, which reported the boy’s mother lives in Lexington, where he was arrested.

The child’s mother requested her son be released and live with her, but the magistrate will not allow him to reside out of state, FOX 19 NOW reported.
“He can’t stay with me, Your Honor. It’s pretty much self-explanatory to see where I’m at,” his father told the magistrate from a hospital room, according to FOX 19 NOW, which reported the boy will return to court May 24 once his parents have agreed on a plan.
