Mother’s Day Brunch Spots: Ohio Eateries Among America’s Best

Four Ohio restaurants were named among the best brunch spots in the country in a new OpenTable list.

OHIO — Looking for a special spot to celebrate Mother's Day? Ohio is home to a few of the top brunch restaurants in the country, according to OpenTable’s list of the 100 Best Brunch Spots in America.

OpenTable said an analysis of its data shows Mother’s Day reservations to its clients are up 39 percent compared with pre–pandemic 2019, and up 13 percent compared with 2021.

Pier W, Lakewood: This award-winning hotspot, at 12700 Lake Avenue, features live piano music during weekend brunches and panoramic views of Cleveland. Chef Regan Reik offers a contemporary American menu with fresh seafood, seasonal dishes and prime meats.

The Bistro at Gervasi Vineyard, Canton: A favorite for wine lovers, the Gervasi Vineyard sits on a 55-acre estate and boasts Tuscan-inspired villas and a boutique inn. The Bistro, at 1700 55th St, features Italian cuisine, including pastas, antipasti and brick-fired pizzas.

Lindey's, Columbus: This landmark restaurant boasts an award-winning patio and a menu filled with brunch classics, such as eggs benedict, pancakes foster and salmon tartine. Lindey's, at 169 E. Beck Street, has been named on countless 'best of' lists for nearly four decades.

The Pearl, Dublin: Dubbed a "culinary jewel" by OpenTable, this restaurant features classically inspired cocktails and a high-tech air purification system that's designed to eliminate pathogens. This popular brunch spot, at 88 North High St, also features brunch staples such as huevos rancheros, eggs benedict and buttermilk pancakes.

In a survey of 1,255 adults, 45 percent said they plan to make up for time lost with their mothers and mother figures during the pandemic by “going big” this year. And 48 percent of moms surveyed said their ideal Mother’s Day involves going out to brunch or dinner.

Among those, nearly half (47 percent) are opting for brunch. The most popular cuisines represented on the list are American (30 percent), French (19 percent), contemporary American (11 percent) and seafood (10 percent).
