Summer Campers at Ready Set Grow and Enchanted Care® Learning Centers Across Ohio Donate More Than $900 to Local Children in Need

Summer campers from Enchanted Care Learning Center and Ready Set Grow schools in Ohio – including Columbus, Delaware, Marysville, New Albany, Powell, and Westerville – recently partnered to donate more than $900 to the On Brave Wings Foundation, which raises money for pediatric chordoma cancer research. Students at the six schools worked together to hold donation drives to raise money for the research foundation.
On Brave Wings was founded by the Swanton family in honor of their child and former Enchanted Care student Sloane Swanton. Sloane was diagnosed with pediatric and clival chordoma when she was only 18 months old. She fought bravely, but lost her battle with the disease in 2021. Research made possible through donations to this fund will help develop new treatments for pediatric chordoma so that children, like Sloane, diagnosed with this devastating disease in the future will have better outcomes.
Enchanted Care Learning Center and Ready Set Grow instill a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Their signature Links to Learning preschool curriculum emphasizes social-emotional learning as a stepping stone for kindergarten and beyond. Teachers work with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
