Rock Hall Announces 2021 Induction Nominees

The list features legendary musical acts like Jay-Z, Devo, Foo Fighters and more.

CLEVELAND — The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced the nominees for 2021 induction.

The acts up for induction are:

  • Mary J. Blige (First-time nominee)
  • Kate Bush
  • Devo
  • Foo Fighters (First-time nominee)
  • The Go-Go’s (First-time nominee)
  • Iron Maiden (First-time nominee)
  • JAY-Z (First-time nominee)
  • Chaka Khan
  • Carole King
  • Fela Kuti (First time nominee)
  • LL Cool J
  • New York Dolls
  • Rage Against the Machine
  • Todd Rundgren
  • Tina Turner
  • Dionne Warwick (First-time nominee)

Rundgren was also nominated for induction in 2020.

Chosen inductees will be announced in May. They will be celebrated during an induction ceremony in Cleveland in the fall.

Inductees are chosen by an international voting body composed of more than 1,000 musicians, historians and music industry professionals. There is also a fan vote factored into calculations.

Fans can vote for up to five artists for induction. Votes can be cast once per day. The fan vote will close April 30.

Last year, these acts were inducted into the Rock Hall:

  • Depeche Mode
  • The Doobie Brothers
  • Whitney Houston
  • Nine Inch Nails
  • The Notorious B.I.G.
  • T. Rex
