“The crafters at this event truly are sowing seeds for a rich harvest for the cities,” says Kathie Brown, director of WOW – Women for Oppressed Women, who are hosting the show. “One hundred percent of the show’s proceeds will support projects that offer life and livelihood to the unborn through teenagers.”

In fact, the theme of this inaugural event is “Planting Seeds for a Harvest for the Cities.” WOW will use craft show proceeds to support outreaches to Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Kenmore, Green and Wadsworth. Attendees not only will feel great about their investments, but they also will enjoy a wide variety of unique crafts and activities. Some of the creations they’ll find are:
- Hand-painted, decorative windows
- Rags to Enriched Wreaths (made from upcycled sewing scraps)
- Fresh flower terrariums
- Inspired Word Art
- Prayer Pots
- Pillow Shams and Cases
- Beautiful handmade arts and crafts from Cambodia, India, and Africa!
All told, the Sew & Sow Craft Show will feature nearly 30 local and global artisans. Patrons also can grab lunch at the Craft Show Café, satisfy their sweet tooth at a homemade doughnut bar and take home some treats to share from the Bountiful Baked Goods counter.

- Pallet Board Word Art – guests will learn to decorate a pallet board with an inspirational quote beautiful enough for display. Cost is $25.
- Journal, Jam & Java – journaling enthusiasts or wannabes can learn tools and techniques for a great journaling experience. Cost is $10.
- Canvas Art – attendees will be guided through free-hand painting on canvas. Cost is $20.
Again, the profits from these clinics will support outreaches throughout Greater Akron. If interested, sign up quickly, as space is limited.
