• Ohio Turnpike & Ohio State Highway Patrol Urge Motorists Not To Drink & Drive Over Holidays (thevillagereporter.com) — Holiday travelers from Akron should know that Ohio Turnpike construction is limited to just two work zones, including one near Exit 180 by State Route 8 in Summit County, with two lanes open each way at 60 mph. State officials are also strongly urging drivers to stay sober, buckle up, and report impaired motorists by calling #677 so everyone gets home safely.

• Operation Santa's Sleigh lights up Ohio with holiday cheer (peakofohio.com) — Akron children’s hospital was one of several Ohio sites lit up by Operation Santa’s Sleigh, a massive caravan of about 350 first-responder vehicles bringing holiday cheer. Flashing lights, donated gifts, and statewide participation aimed to remind patients, veterans, and families— including those in Akron — that they’re remembered and supported during the season.
