Here are the top three stories today in Avon-Avon Lake:

1. U.S. News & World Report recently released its Best High School in the nation rankings. Avon Lake High School ranked 11th in Cleveland Metro area high schools. It ranked 34th out of 750 high schools in the top 4 percent in Ohio and it ranked 921 out of 17,843 in the m top 5 percent in the nation! Congratulations! (Facebook)
2. Curious about what's on the housing market? See the latest properties in and around Avon-Avon Lake area. Here's a list of the five newest houses to hit the housing market in and around the Avon-Avon Lake area — such as a home in the Avon Lake area with 3 beds and 2 baths for $190,000, and another in the Avon area with 4 beds and 2.5 baths for $520,000. 3. Work continues on the 16,000-square-foot addition to the Avon Branch Library. Work is expected to be completed later this year. According to a Cleveland.com article, "the project includes renovations and the addition to accommodate a reading garden, drive-up window, expanded meeting rooms, technology upgrades and a dedicated space for children and youth programming."
