- Tragedy has struck Elyria Ohio! According to cleveland.com, "four people were found dead in their Elyria home Saturday night shortly after a man called 911 saying he had killed his family and was about to kill himself, Elyria police said in a press release. Elyria police arrived at the home in the 200 block of Kenny Brook Lane at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, according to the release. Officers found the residence locked and forced entry. They found four people dead in the home, all related to one another, the release said. Police declined to identify the individuals pending official notification of the next of kin." (cleveland.com)
- According to the Morning Journal, "the eight teams of the Southwestern Conference gathered for the cross country conference championships at Lorain County Community College on Oct. 15. On the girls side, Avon kept up its successful season with their fifth meet win of the year. Despite battling some illness and missing a couple of key runners, the Eagles were able to place five runners in the top 13 to win." (Subscription Morning Journal)
