🌱Avon Lake Resident Steals From Kohls + Football Fridays Have Begun

Here are the top stories in Avon-Avon Lake today:

1. According to a cleveland.com article an Avon Lake woman stole more than $3,600 from Kohl’s over the past few weeks. "On Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. Kohl’s employees reported a woman suspected of stealing from the store the week before was back. When officers arrived, they met Kohl’s loss prevention employees in their office where the woman’s movement was being recorded by Closed Circuit TV. The Fairview Park Police Detective Bureau had received a tip that the suspect was a 37-year old Avon Lake woman. An officer and Kohl’s security watched the woman make random selections of clothing, electronics (at least three instant cameras), and a metal detector. She had selected jewelry prior to the officer’s arrival. The woman made her way into a fitting room on the second floor. She exited the dressing room and exited the store on the first-floor walking past the registers without stopping to pay for any merchandise. She was stopped as she was getting into her car. Officers recovered the stolen merchandise totaling over $1,000. The amount taken the week before was over $2,600. Officers arrested the woman." (cleveland.com)
2. Friday night football season has officially begun. Opening the season with Avon Lake traveling to Strongsville for the week one game led to both teams not making any touchdowns in the first quarter, however, the Shoremen garnered 17 points in the second quarter and according to the Morning Journal, the Shoremen were victorious with a final score of 38-0.
