  1. It's back! After a brief hiatus due to the pandemic, the Empty Bowls by the Lake (EBBTL) fundraiser is back in person on November 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Avon Middle School. According to cleveland.com, "the requested donation is $20 and includes soup, bread and a bowl to keep as a reminder of all the ‘empty bowls’ in the world. Many of the bowls were made by high school students throughout the area. Entertainment includes the Avon High School Electric Orchestra. Raffles include a chance to win Cleveland Browns tickets and 30-inch digital electric smoker and other gift baskets. Proceeds benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank and local other food banks. EBBTL has raised over $93,000 since its inception in 2012. For every dollar donated, Second Harvest Food Bank can provide seven meals. EBBTL is looking for sponsors, volunteers, donations to the silent auction, and restaurants who would like to donate soup. Message EBBTL through their Facebook page." (cleveland.com)
