"Until there is a disposition in the case the officer's status with our department will be dependent upon the officer's ability to drive," Avon police said in a written statement. "While we expect more from the employees in our department we respect the criminal justice process; so until there is a decision by the court, no discipline will be considered or issued."
Ruple's car was stopped by a State Trooper around 2:17 a.m. on Kinzel Road in Avon. Ruple was then transported to the Sheffield Police Department where he was later released.
