Bleser Park Bathroom Vandalized: Avon Lake Police Blotter

AVON LAKE, OH — October isn't quite over, but Avon Lake police have already dealt with their share of crime and pranks. Learn more about vandalism at Bleser Park, drunken driving and more below.

Theft, Oct. 7 — A 1966 high school class ring was taken from a home on Parkside Drive.

Property destruction, Oct. 8 — A teenager admitted to damaging the bathroom at Bleser Park. He turned himself into police after confessing to his mother, according to police reports. Several other teenagers witnesses the destruction, police said.

Suspicious activity, Oct. 10 — A person came to Avon Lake police and asked them to destroy some property for him.

Missing juvenile, Oct. 11 — A 17-year-old ran away from home, but was later found safe, police said.

Disturbing the peace, Oct. 11 — Two men fought near a home on Fay Avenue. Both men were done scrapping before police arrived, but were cited for disturbing the peace.

Telecommunications harassment, Oct. 11 — An Avon Lake resident was receiving constant phone calls from someone they told to stop contacting them. Police reached out and warned the caller to stop all calls to the resident.

Operating a vehicle impaired, Oct. 13 — An investigation into a two-car accident near Lake Road and Lakeview Drive ended with police arresting one driver for drunken driving.

Disorderly conduct, Oct. 17 — A man walked into an Avon Lake bar and refused to leave. One of the employees called 911 and when police arrived the man lied about who he was. Officers found weed on his person. He was detained and then allowed to return to his home in Avon.

Traffic complaint, Oct. 18 — A car stopped in the road on Walker Road, near Taylor Avenue. Officers investigated and discovered the car had broken down, but the driver had a suspended license. The driver was cited and the vehicle was moved off the street.

Traffic complaint, Oct. 18 — A car was stopped for not having any rear lights and the driver was cited.

Missing person, Oct. 19 — A juvenile was reported missing, but police found the runaway within an hour.
