Bridle Court Home Damaged in Fire

Fire Department unsure of cause

The is investigating the cause of a house fire Tuesday afternoon at a Bridle Court home.

No one was injured in the fire at 39011 Bridle Court, said assistant fire chief Tim Golay. A man and a dog were in the home when the fire broke out around 1:30 p.m., but both were safely out of the home by the time firefighters arrived.

Firefighters from Avon, Sheffield Village, North Ridgeville and Avon Lake were on hand.

It took less than five minutes to put out the fire, Golay said. It had not spread beyond the rear of the home or to the attic.

The fire appeared to have started on or near the back deck of the two-story home, Golay said, and spread to the back of the house. Damaged siding and insulation had been tossed away from the home.

Golay said an preliminary damage estimate was between $35,000 and $50,000.
