- Stepping back in history, old Avon will remember the early days of the annual Candlelite Walk in the French Creek District. According to cleveland.com, "The Country Store, located at 2536 Stoney Ridge Road, is bringing back the spirit of the event with the upcoming “Reliving the 1980s Candlelite Walk,” from 6 to 9 p.m. December 2. Many of the same carolers from the 1980s will be singing festive holiday songs and Santa and Mr. Scrooge will make an appearance." Hope to see you there to take part in the festivities! - According to cleveland.com, "Mayor Greg Zilka’s appointment of Edward Wydman as the city’s new finance director was recently approved by City Council. Wydman brings more than 40 years of financial experience to the position. He has served in various finance department roles in Erie County, including for the City of Sandusky. Kevin Brubaker was also approved as the city’s new public works director. He comes to Avon Lake after serving as the safety service director in Elyria and is also a former Elyria at-large councilman." Welcome! (cleveland.com)
