1. According to a Cleveland.com article, "Over the course of a record-setting lacrosse season for several players in the Cleveland area, programs were lifted to new heights. This season’s boys all-star team is full of leaders. The only junior on this all-star team is Avon’s Gavin Fligner, who was the fearless netminder the Eagles needed to get the team to the Division I elite eight.
   Owning one of the best save percentages this past season with a .627 on 255 shots with 160 saves, Fligner was the reliable backstop head coach Chris Barton needed to put the Eagles on the postseason map." Congratulations Gavin! (cleveland.com)
2. The Mourning Journal's article states that, "Lorain County Commissioner Matt Lundy met with an official from the company that’s redeveloping the former power plant in Avon Lake on June 28 and came away satisfied it will honor its original commitment to use local labor on the site. Charah Solutions Inc. purchased the former NRG Energy Facility with plans to redevelop it. In talks with Avon Lake city officials, the company promised it would use 75 percent Ohio labor on the project as well as conduct public meetings to provide updates on the project. But in early June, members of Laborers’ Local Union No. 758 protested out front of the plant on East Lake Road after learning that Avon Lake Environmental Redevelopment Group LLC (ALERG), a subsidiary of the Louisville, Ky.-based Charah, was using an ARC Abatement out of Waco, Texas, to remove the asbestos in the plant.
