Driver Forced Car Off Road, Yelled At Mother, Son: Avon Lake PD
Avon Lake police cited a man for menacing after he was accused of trying to run a car off of Lear Road.
AVON LAKE, OH — An Avon Lake man is accused of trying to force another car off the road before nearly hitting the other vehicle and screaming at its driver, police said.
According to an Avon Lake police report, at 5 p.m. on Dec. 2, a 31-year-old woman reported that a pickup truck had followed her out of the parking lot of Giant Eagle. The truck followed her north on Lear Road before driving into oncoming traffic to get in front of the caller's car, police said.
The truck then forced the car off the road, nearly striking it, according to the police report. The truck angled itself to block the car in, the police report added.

When both vehicles were stopped, the driver of the truck — a 63-year-old Avon Lake man — got out and began yelling at the caller and her 9-year-old son. His tirade include screaming and cussing, the police report said.
Police located the driver after the incident and charged him with menacing, a first degree misdemeanor, police reports said.
