AVON LAKE, OH — Avon Lake police had a busy start to 2022. Catch up on all of the recent police activity in the community in the blotter below.
Animal complaint, Jan. 1 — An Avon Lake man was cited for dog-at-large.
Telecommunications harassment, Jan. 1 — An Avon Lake business reported that former employees were possibly calling and harassing current staff.

Property damage, Jan. 3 — Former employees of an Avon Lake business are suspected of damaging the cars of current staff at the company.
Property damage, Jan. 3 — A mid-size John Deer excavator slid off the back of a trailer on Lake Road. The excavator ended up on its side between two houses, according to the police report.

Criminal damaging, Jan. 5 — The tires on three cars were intentionally punctured overnight.
Liquor offense, Jan. 6 — A customer at an Avon Lake pizza shop drank too much alcohol and couldn't pay his tab, police said. The man's mother was called to the scene and she paid the tab and took the man home.
Disorderly conduct, Jan. 6 — A customer refused to leave an Avon Lake bar and had to be escorted out by police. The man got sick on the way to Avon Lake Jail and had to be diverted to the Cleveland Clinic.
Traffic complaint, Jan. 9 — A car was stopped on Walker Road for having expired tags. The driver did not have a valid license.
Identity theft, Jan. 10 — An AT&T account was illicitly opened in an Avon Lake resident's name. The account was first opened in November.
