Flash Flood Watch Issued For Lorain County

With more thunderstorms possible Monday, flash floods could form in parts of Northeast Ohio.

AVON, OH — A flash flood watch has been issued for Lorain County on Monday.

After a soggy weekend, more rain and thunderstorms could be headed toward Avon and Avon Lake, the National Weather Service said. Forecasts predict rain could start Monday afternoon and continue into the evening, with 1 to 3 inches expected throughout much of Northeast Ohio.

Rain is most likely to fall between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Monday.

"Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. Monitor the forecast and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued or if flooding develops," the National Weather Service said.

A flash flood watch was issued for portions of Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania on Monday. Impacted counties include: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Sandusky, Seneca and Summit.
