Flooding Possible In Avon, Avon Lake On Wednesday

A flood advisory has been issued for northern Lorain County, the National Weather Service announced.

AVON, OH — Flooding is possible Wednesday morning in northern Lorain County, the National Weather Service announced.

A flood advisory was issued for the region and will remain in place until at least 10:15 a.m.

At 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Doppler radar picked up a line of heavy rain and thunderstorms moving into northern Lorain County. Minor flooding is expected to develop due to the precipitation, with 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain already fallen, the National Weather Service said.

An additional inch of rain could fall in the area Wednesday morning.

The following cities are likely to experience some form of minor flooding on Wednesday morning: Avon, Avon Lake, Lorain, Elyria, North Ridgeville, Avon Lake, Grafton, North Olmsted, Sheffield Lake, Eaton, Oberlin and Sheffield.

If you encounter a flooded road, turn your car around and find another route, the agency advised.
