1. Congratulations to the 2010 Boys Cross Country Team for being a 2022 Hall of Fame Inductee. "The team is remembered as one of the best in school history according to a Support Avon Schools Facebook post. The team was coached by Tar Gruskiewcz and assisted by Matt Nortz. 2. For most of the game Friday night, Avon (4-1) and Elyria (2-3) were going head-to-head in a defensive battle, with the Eagles holding an edge with a pair of scores. However, According to cleveland.com, No. 4 Avon had its lead cut to 14-6 with 9:43 remaining in the third before ending the game on a 34-0 run to top Elyria, 48-6. The Eagle's offense turned [a] drive into six points thanks to a huge toss from senior quarterback Sam DeTillio to one of his favorite targets, Ethan Holbrook, on a 55-yard pass that helped set up a short score by senior Jakorion Caffey to extend the Eagles’ lead."Congratulations team! 3. Pizza lovers take note! The North Coast Rotary Great Pizza Bake Off will be held on September 22nd from 5 to 7 p.m. at Avon Lake High School (Commons), 175 Avon Belden Road. According to cleveland.com, "The all-you-can-sample event costs $12 for adults, and $6 for children (ages 5-12). Vote for your favorite pizzas during the event.
