Free HIV, STD Screenings Available In Lorain County
Anyone who lives in Lorain County can get tested for HIV or other sexually transmitted infections for free at an upcoming event.
ELYRIA, OH — Free HIV and sexually transmitted infection (STI) screenings will soon be available for Lorain County residents.
A free screening clinic will be held Feb. 16, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the College Center Commons at Lorain County Community College. Testing is confidential and free, and there will also be free food and performances by local poets and musicians.
“It’s important to learn your HIV status so you can discuss a treatment option with your doctor and talk with your partner,” says Mark Adams, health commissioner at Lorain County Public Health (LCPH). "HIV is an infection that may lead to AIDS if not treated. There is no cure for HIV or AIDS, but there are treatment options to help people live longer, healthier lives."
