Halloween Forecast: Will It Rain In Avon Or Avon Lake?
Trick-or-treating will happen Sunday night. Will the weather be scary bad for the holiday?
AVON, OH — Halloween is just a few days away and it looks like the holiday will be rainy and chilly again.
Trick-or-treating in Avon and Avon Lake will be held Sunday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Like so many previous Halloweens, the weather promises to be chilly and soggy.
Current forecasts predict a high of 59 degrees on Sunday, with a low of 45 overnight. Avon and Avon Lake residents may see a bit of rain before 2 p.m., though there's only a 30-percent chance of precipitation that day.

The rest of Halloween weekend will be similarly cold and rainy. There's an 80-percent chance of rain on Friday and a 60-percent chance of showers on Saturday. Temperatures won't escape the 50s and could dip into the mid- to low-40s overnight.

If you're going out on Halloween, remember these safety tips:
- Never drive drunk. Get a designated driver or plan to pay for a ride home.
- If you are driving, go slowly through neighborhoods. Kids will be active and can sometimes dart into the street unexpectedly.
- If you're going trick-or-treating make sure you decorate costumes or candy bags with reflective strips and brightly-colored clothing to alert drivers at night.
- Parents or guardians should carry a flashlight.
- Use sidewalks whenever possible.
