Here are the top three stories in Avon-Avon Lake today:

1. Mark November 10 on your calendar if you want to learn more about future school facilities in Avon Lake. According to cleveland.com, "The Avon Lake School District will hold a community forum on potential facility upgrades at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in the Commons at Avon Lake High School. At the forum, the public will have a chance to ask questions about the future of the district’s school buildings. The biggest projects to be discussed are the replacement of the PreK-8 schools. Also under the preliminary plan, a current grades 7-8 building would become a grades 6-8 school, and some other schools would be transitioned to PreK-5 buildings." (cleveland.com)

Collections bins will be in our lobby until Dec. 2. Children in our communities need winter coats, warm pjs, and a toy to unwrap for the holidays; seniors need basics like toothpaste, tissues and sanitizer; and individuals and families need a little bit of help putting food on the table. If you are fortunate enough to be able to: next time you’re at the store picking up groceries scoop up an extra can of corn and a box of stuffing, on your next Amazon order add on a pair of slippers for a local senior, or next drugstore run pick up a coloring book, an extra bottle of shampoo/body wash, or a small toy – any little bit you can give will help make the holidays brighter for someone in our community!
