  1. According to cleveland.com, "The Avon Lake Historical Society, in partnership with the City of Avon Lake spearheaded by Council President Marty O’Donnell, are rehabbing the Peter Miller House Museum, 33740 Lake Road. Funding is in part from a private donation from Susan Waddell Mahoney (1968 Avon Lake graduate) and her husband, Patrick, a grant from the Lorain County Commissioners and the city. Northern Hammerworks, Sandrock Painting and Avon Lake Sherwin Williams are assisting with the renovations. The museum is currently closed and the hope is to open before the cold weather hits. Painting is currently taking place and the infrastructure work is happening this week and continuing over the next few weeks." (cleveland.com)
  2. Good news for Ohio! According to cleveland.com, "Ohio will get nearly $2 billion in money from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act for projects to improve Ohio’s bridges, roads, tunnels and other surface infrastructure, Ohio members of Congress announced on Wednesday. The funding will go to the Ohio Department of Transportation, which will have flexibility in determining how to allocate the federal money." (cleveland.com)
  3. The 57th Annual Avon Lake Band-A-Rama will feature seven outstanding bands from Ohio including the Avon Lake High School Band. This is a judged event sanctioned by the Ohio Music Education Association. The event will take place on October 15th at 6 p.m. at 175 Avon Beldon Road. Tickets are available at the gate. $8 general admission and $6 for seniors and children under 12. Hope to see you there! (Avon Lake Band)
