AVON LAKE, OH — A burning car and suspected narcotics found in a bathroom headline the most recent slate of incidents handled by Avon Lake police.

Traffic complaint, Sept. 10 — A Honda Civic with expired license plates was stopped by police on Moore Road. The driver also had a suspended license, police said. A citation was issued and the car was towed away.

Warrant service, Sept. 10 — Police learned a man at Veterans Park had an outstanding warrant for his arrest through Elyria police. The man was taken into custody and transferred to Elyria officers.

Menacing, Sept. 11 — An Avon Lake woman received threatening text messages from a man she knew. Charges were filed against the man, police said.

Traffic complaint, Sept. 15 — A driver with a suspended license was stopped by police on Lake Road.

Vehicle fire, Sept. 16 — Police helped Avon Lake firefighters deal with a burning car near the McDonald's on Walker Road. The car was a 2013 Ford Focus, according to police reports.

Narcotics, Sept. 20 — Suspected drugs were found in the bathroom of a wellness center on Avon Belden Road. The drugs were turned over to police and marked for destruction, according to reports.
