- The Avon Lake Police Department got a new officer named Lex! Lex is a K9 officer who will be working with Officer Blankenship. They just completed their training together and are starting patrols this week. If you see them around say hi! Lex is a 14-month-old Dutch Shepherd from the Netherlands. - Save the date! On July 1 the Avon Lake Parks and Recreation Department has an amazing night of music and fireworks planned at Weiss Field. According to the Facebook post about the event, Seeing Scarlet The Band and Anne E. DeChant Band with local ties to Avon Lake AND the headliner, an amazing national touring band, The Dave Matthews Tribute Band will be on hand for the event playing as well as a variety of different food trucks including; Jones Bones BBQ & Grub Cafe Melissa-Avon Lake Fired Up Taco Truck Boss ChicknBeer Kona Ice of Westlake Kountry Krunchin's Cathy's: Gourmet Ice Cream Sandwiches Avon Lake Parks & Recreation Department. - Celebrate summer with Stoke & Rye at the Westin Riverfront in the Vail Valley with the return of the popular FAC live music series starting this Friday, June 17th with Policulture (orginal mountain reggae. Reportedly, Stoke & Rye opens daily at 5 p.m. with the live FAC music starting at 6 p.m. each Friday evening on the expansive patio overlooking the Eagle River. See you there! (RealVail)
- Avon Lake joins the international Make Music Day celebration on June 21 with Make Music Avon Lake on the summer solstice. The event will take place from 4-9 p.m., at Bleser Park. It is completely free and open to anyone who wants Make Music. (The Morning Journal)
