Nighttime ATV Riders Get Police Attention

The following arrest information was provided by the Avon Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police were called to a home in the 3400 block of Pelham Place three times over the weekend as the residents said ATV drivers were out in the fields behind their home at night, making noise and yelling obscenities.

They were gone by the time police arrived the first two times, but police saw what appeared to be flashlights in the field on the third visit, around 1:45 a.m. on March 31. Officers were not able to catch up with the ATV drivers.

Five-finger discount thwarted

Two women were arrested for theft after store security spotted them leaving in Avon Commons with stolen merchandise around 5:21 p.m. on March 30 and called .

After leaving Kohl’s, their car was spotted by Avon police outside as one of the women was seen heading into the store. 

Synetra Morrison and Jade Kelly, both 21, were arrested.

Angry birds, maybe?

A window was shattered in a home in the 36200 block of Detroit Road around 6:43 p.m. on March 31.

Police looked at the damage, and could not find near the window anything that could have been thrown or shot at it. The caller said that several birds were flying around the window just before it broke.
