Here are the top three stories in Avon-Avon Lake today:

  1. According to Cleveland 19 News, "The Ohio Attorney General identified the Lake Erie kayaker missing since Nov. 5 as 30-year-old Evan Zeller of Sheffield Lake. Zeller, nor his kayak, have been found and authorities are asking for the community to come forward with any information that may help find him. He was described by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources as 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. ODNR said Zeller was wearing a gray shirt, shorts and a lime green life vest when he went missing with his dark green tandem kayak with Ohio registration number OH0670DV. Fire departments that worked to find this missing kayaker on Lake Erie suspended their search on Nov. 7, according to the Avon Lake Fire Department (ALFD).(Cleveland 19 News)
  2. On Monday, November 21, roadway repair work will be performed on Walker Road at the City of Bay Village line. Traffic will be one lane in the work area. Work is expected to take one day." (City of Avon Lake, OH via Facebook)
  3. Do you want to add a new member to your family? Look no further than these Avon-Avon Lake animal shelters for a pet available for adoption. Shelters have dogs, cats and other kinds of pets ready and waiting for someone to take them home. About 6.5 million companion animals are taken in each year by animal rescue organizations nationwide, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. However, only half of all shelter animals — about 3.2 million — are adopted each year, ASPCA data shows. This means millions of animals — some right here in the Avon-Avon Lake area — are still waiting for their forever homes. With help from our friends at Petfinder, Patch has compiled this week’s list of animals available for adoption near you. Whether you’re looking for cuddles or companionship, one of these animals could be the perfect fit for your family.(Avon-Avon Lake Patch)
