- As a special tribute and way to remember Garrett and Grant Hull, (Garrett and Grant were found dead in the family home along with their mother, father and dog in September of 2021. Reportedly, their father shot the members of the family before taking his own life.) the Erieview PTA raised funds to purchase a new carousel for the Erieview Elementary School playground. According to a Facebook post, "Erieview Elementary recently held a special ceremony in honor and memory of Grant and Garrett Hull and the school's Kids in the Community club painted “kindness rocks” that were placed near the large oak tree. Every student also received a bottle of bubbles which were released in memory of the boys." (Avon Lake City Schools via Facebook)
- It's Hall of Fame Weekend! Inductees will be presented during halftime of the football game Friday. According to the Facebook post on the Support Avon Schools page, "the first Class of 2022 Inductee Spotlight is Erin Kvach. Kvach is a 1990 graduate of AVHS. She was a member of the softball, volleyball and basketball teams. Among her other accolades, she has more than 28 years of coaching experience. - According to the cleveland.com article, "a Safe Sitter course will be offered by University Hospitals. The instructor-led course is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8th to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students also have the opportunity to use mannequins to practice rescue skills such as choking rescue and CPR. - Cleveland Clinic: "Rowing — both the indoor (machine) and outdoor (boat) versions — has a reputation as a great form of exercise, a total body workout that can up your cardio game! Because rowing gives you such a good cardio workout, it’s also flexible in terms of how you fit it into your routine. If you don’t want to make it a long workout, you can do short intervals between other exercises to keep your heart rate up." (Cleveland Clinic via Instagram)
- FIDO's Companion Rescue Inc.: "What a DIFFERENCE! Cannoli debuts his new look as a dog who now can live his senior years as a healthy dog. At 10 years old this boy is blind in one eye but otherwise ready to chill on someone's lap." (FIDO's Companion Rescue Inc. via Facebook)
- Avon Lake Public Library: "Abby is back by popular demand! Writing a novel can be a daunting task. But it doesn't have to take you years or never-ending drafts to finish a manuscript.
