1. Scam alert! According to the Avon Lake Police Department Facebook post, "the Police Department has taken several calls from individuals who say that they are receiving calls from specific members of our Department. The residents are being told to call a number (440)-653-8221 (U.S. District Court House) and they will be directed as to how to make arrangements to testify in Federal Court on certain cases. The calls appear to be targeting professionals in the mental health field. If you receive one of these calls, DO NOT CALL BACK! IT IS A SCAM. Instead, call the Avon Lake Police Department and make us aware of it." (Avon Lake Police via Facebook)
2. Friendship APL volunteers will be at Earthwise Pet in Avon Lake today for a pet adoption event at Earthwise Pet in Avon Lake. The event will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Who knows, you may meet your new fur family member today! (Facebook Groups)
