- Applications are now being accepted for the city of Avon's annual “Ride with Santa” contest. According to cleveland.com, "Parents can download the contest form then kids can write a letter to Santa letting the big guy know why they would like to ride with him to the city’s annual Tree Lighting Festival and help him light the holiday decorations. The festival is Dec. 3 at the Avon Aquatic Facility (new location), 36265 Detroit Road. Children ages 3 to 14 years-old prior to December 31, 2022 may enter the contest. One entry per child. Deadline to submit forms is 5 p.m. Nov. 18." (cleveland.com)
- The Avon Lake Shoremen have advanced to the Regional Quarterfinals against Toledo Central Catholic. The game will be played Friday, at 7 p.m. at Toledo Central Catholic. Hope to see you there! (Avon Lake Football via Twitter)
- According to cleveland.com, "The Avon-Avon-Lake Republican Club will meet at 5 p.m. Nov. 10 in the Father Ragan Knights of Columbus Hall, 1783 Moore Road. In honor of Veterans Day, Living History Productions will be presenting, “Mr. Ohio History.” Ken Hammontree, a teacher, author and historian, will play his favorite role as General George Patton. Snacks and refreshments will be available. Cost is $5." (cleveland.com)
