The free, voluntary Ohio Collaborative program reviews policies, use-of-force tracking, and community engagement, with multiple site visits expected over about three months. Local leaders say many standards are already in place but welcome outside review to improve further.

2. Boardman Township swears in newest trustee (wfmj.com) — Boardman Township has officially sworn in new trustee Matt Gambrel, who will join the existing board on January 1, 2026 after winning November’s election with 29.5% of the vote. He says he’s already sitting in on meetings and promises to work hard for the Boardman community that supported him.

3. Feed Our Valley: School pantries feed students and families (wfmj.com) — Boardman Center Intermediate School’s pantry now sees 500–600 student visits each month, reflecting growing food needs for local kids and their families. The story also highlights similar surges at Youngstown and Warren schools, where in-building pantries, care closets, and even a mobile pantry are working to quietly provide food, clothing, and toiletries without stigma.

4. Rimedio-Righetti won't seek reelection as Mahoning commissioner (vindy.com) — Mahoning County Commissioner Carol Rimedio-Righetti, a key decision-maker affecting Boardman residents, will not seek reelection and is backing state Rep. Lauren McNally to replace her. Multiple Republicans, including county Recorder Richard Scarsella of Boardman, are lining up for the commissioner race as both parties maneuver for control of county offices that shape local services and spending.
