Here are the top three stories today in Cincinnati:

  1. The Williamsburg of Cincinnati apartment complex has received a list of code violations and fines. At Monday night meeting about issues with the complex, residents were joined by city council members and attorneys. Among the issues discussed was a water outage that left hundreds of tenants without water for four days. After touring the apartment complex, City Councilman Scotty Johnson was "thoroughly disappointed in how people are being treated." (WLWT Cincinnati)
  2. The Cincinnati Council may increase the hourly wage of lifeguards at public pools next summer. The current pay range is $11.53 to $12.40 per hour and the proposed increase could rase it to $16 to $18 an hour. The proposal also includes a $500 bonus with half contingent upon finishing the season. Final vote on the pay increase will occur on Wednesday evening. (WVXU)
  3. According to Hali Greene, the shelter manager, people experiencing homelessness typically stay at YWCA of Greater Cincinnati for about 30 days. Much of their visitors are survivors of intimate partner violence and their children. Along with temporary shelter, the YWCA offers support finding more secure housing, applying to jobs, and pursuing protection orders. (Spectrum News 1)
