Pair of global manufacturers bring 258 new jobs to Greater Cincinnati (local12.com) — Greater Cincinnati’s job market is getting a major boost as two manufacturers expand in nearby Hamilton, bringing 258 new positions with average pay near $90,000. SencorpWhite will base its U.S. headquarters there, while Salvagnini America is adding jobs and retaining more than 100 existing roles, reinforcing the region’s strength in advanced manufacturing.

2. Man arrested after two homes were shot at in Covington, police say (fox19.com) — A 19-year-old suspect in two Covington home shootings was tracked down and arrested without incident at a residence on Vine Street in Cincinnati and is now held at the Hamilton County Justice Center. Covington’s police chief publicly thanked Cincinnati Police and federal partners for helping locate the man, who faces multiple endangerment charges and awaits extradition to Kentucky.

3. Cpt. Edward Faith White Jr. (americanpress.com) — Cincinnati native and Withrow High School graduate Cpt. Edward Faith White Jr., a longtime U.S. Naval Reserve officer and University of Cincinnati alumnus, has died at 83. His life at sea, love of genealogy, and ties to UC and local family are remembered as plans are made for his burial at Arlington National Cemetery.

5. New Ohio law increases penalties for dangerous dog owners (dayton247now.com) — A new Ohio measure called Avery’s Law, signed by Gov. Mike DeWine, sharply increases penalties for owners of dangerous dogs and gives dog wardens more power to seize vicious animals. Announced from Cincinnati, the law also boosts criminal liability when severe attacks occur, responding to a high-profile mauling of a young girl by two pit bulls.
