“Everybody can be great because anybody can serve.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is the only federal holiday designated as a day for Americans to serve their community. Observed on the third Monday in January of each year, MLK Day of Service marks the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. and honors his legacy of service and tireless efforts to make communities more equitable. This holiday defines a call to action and offers an opportunity for many to step out and make a difference in their communities.

For Cincinnati Parks, MLK Day of Service marks the beginning of a new year for volunteer opportunities. Volunteer service has a huge impact on our park system; supporting our staff, improving our natural environment and providing beautiful and safe spaces for community to connect with nature and one another. We believe it is important to provide opportunities that welcome the support of volunteers each year on MLK Day of Service, and throughout the year. Sign up to volunteer with Cincinnati Parks.
