🌱 City Council Asks Gov. To Veto Bill + Good Plates Eatery Free Meals

Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:

  1. The Cincinnati City Council is urging Governor Mike DeWine to veto a law that the council says jeopardizes affordable housing projects. Ben Eilerman, Senior Developer with Over-the-Rhine Community Housing, said "What is most concerning to me is that there's also language in [the law] that appears to instruct the director of the State Historic Tax Credit program to pull back credits that have already been awarded to projects." The Lower Price Hill Thrives project could lose $960,000 and the Barrister project could lose $350,000. (WOSU Public Media)
  2. Good Plates Eatery is offering free holiday meals for the third year in a row. The doors will open at noon on Saturday, Dec. 24, and customers can request a number of meals. The meals will include roasted chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, and rolls. (WLWT Cincinnati)
  3. A Cincinnati medical research firm has announced a $150,000,000 expansion. The company, Medpace Holdings, Inc., plans to add 1,500 jobs in Cincinnati over the next six years. Medpace President Jesse Geiger said, “On our 30th anniversary, we are proud to continue our growth here in Cincinnati, where we established Medpace with a vision of helping patients, families, and communities by advancing new and better medical treatments.” (The Cincinnati Enquirer)
