CHUH School District Eliminates Assistant Principal Positions at Middle Schools
Fred Thomas and Brian Williams will move to teaching positions

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights School Board voted to eliminate assistant principal positions at Wiley and Monticello middle schools at Tuesday night's regular meeting, effective at the end of June.Â
The administrative contracts for the two assistant principals were also officially suspended at the meeting; however, both will still have jobs in the district next year.Â
Brian Williams, who is the assistant principal at , will be an elementary school teacher effective Aug. 29. His assignment is to be determined, according to documents distributed by the board.Â

Fred Thomas, assistant principal of , will be a math teacher effective Aug. 29, and his school assignment is to be determined.Â
"I'd just like to say with Mr. Thomas in the audience that I appreciate everything. I've had students at Wiley, and I truly appreciate your leadership while at Wiley Middle School," said Karen Jones, board member. "I just want you to know it has not been unnoticed."

Board Member Ron Register also thanked Williams, who did not attend the meeting.
"We're doing the things that we have to do to move us forward, but we don't want to ever forget that what makes this work is people, so we appreciate the people who make it work," Register said.Â
