COVID-19 Vaccine Proof Will Be Required At Dobama Theatre

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Audience members at Dobama Theatre will need to prove they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 when the season begins.

If audience members cannot prove they've been vaccinated, they'll need to show either a negative antigen test taken within the past 24 hours, or a negative PCR test taken within the past 72 hours. Without either a negative test or a vaccination proof, audience members will not be admitted to the show.

People under the age of 12 will not be allowed to attend performances.

Additionally, regardless of vaccine status, all patrons, staff and volunteers will be required to wear face masks while inside Dobama. Masks must cover both the mouth and nose.

Here are some of the other changes implemented for the coming theater season:

• Concessions will not be sold at performances, allowing audience members to remain masked throughout the show.
• All tickets will be digital, allowing for a no-touch admission.
• All programs will be digital. A pre-show email will give audience members access to programs, and signs in Dobama will have QR codes taking guests to the program.
• All performances will be ticketed to full capacity, though socially distanced performances could be scheduled later.
• Hand sanitizer stations will be spread throughout the facility.
• Dobama's HVAC system is now fitted with MERV-13 rated filters and an ionizer to trap COVID-19 particles and prevent spread. Dobama will receive ventilation verification as required by the Actors' Equity Association.

"All these precautions are taken to protect patrons, artists, staff, volunteers, and the wider community. These steps are necessary for a safe return to the theatre. We’re grateful for your understanding and cooperation in protecting the well-being of our neighbors and for taking care of each other," Dobama officials said in an emailed statement.

Both the Beck Center and Playhouse Square have implemented similar admission policies for their audiences.
