Where/When: Shaker Historical Society, 16740 S. Park Blvd., Shaker Heights; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: Get a taste of Shaker life during the Civil War, when they were known to open their doors to both Union and Confederate troops for a hot meal and a place to rest. At a very reasonable price, you’ll get pancakes, scrambled eggs, Shaker hominy cakes, teas and jams and more.

Pricing: $2 ages 18 and up, $1 ages 6 to 18 and free for children under 6

4. IMPROV AT BIG DOG THEATER 

Where/When: Big Dog Theater, 2781 Euclid Heights Blvd., Cleveland Heights; Saturday, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Why Go: Torque … Full Throttle Improv features comedians who come up with comedy acts on their feet from around the city. 

Pricing: $10 regular admission and $8 with student ID. Tickets can be purchased at the theater the day of, cash only
