CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — A Heights High student tested positive for COVID-19 this week.
The student had not been in the high school building but was on campus on Monday and rode on a school bus to an athletic event, the district said. Staff disinfected the bus on Wednesday.
"We are working closely with the Cuyahoga County Health Department and anyone identified as a close contact will be notified by the health department as a part of COVID-19 investigation," the district said in a statement.

The Cleveland Heights Teachers Union has protested the reopening, saying it's not yet safe for teachers to return. They've asked the district to delay a return to in-person education until the vaccine is more readily available.
Since Jan. 27, there have been three confirmed cases of COVID-19 among Heights staffers and one case among students.
