I-271 Realignment, Other Projects Could Impact Your Weekend Plans

The Ohio Department of Transportation has several projects that could impact east siders this weekend.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — As summer enters its final stages, there will be plenty of road work conducted throughout the Buckeye State. The Ohio Department of Transportation released a list of its work for the weekend.

Here are the traffic projects that could impact your plans, according to ODOT.

The I-271 ramp re-alignment project should wrap up in September. However, several new impacts could impact your weekend driving.

  • I-90 eastbound at I-271 southbound
    • Detour will be I-271 southbound to Wilson Mills Rd. to I-271 northbound to I-90 eastbound.
  • I-271 southbound express lanes at SR 91
    • Detour will utilize I-271 southbound local lanes.

I-90 eastbound at I-271 southbound will be closed on Friday, August 20 at 8:30 p.m. through Saturday, August 21, at 6 a.m.

  • Detour will be I-271 southbound to Wilson Mills Rd. to I-271 northbound to I-90 eastbound.

  • I-77 northbound and southbound to I-490 west will be closed beginning on Friday, August 20, at 7 p.m. through Monday, August 23, at 6 a.m. for bridge repairs.
    • Detour Northbound – will be Broadway Ave. to Rockefeller Ave. to I-490.
    • Detour Southbound – will be E. 30th northbound to Woodland Ave. westbound to E. 14th St. southbound to Orange Ave. southbound to Broadway Ave. eastbound to Rockefeller Ave. westbound to I-490.
