California synagogue bombing suspect Ron Hirsch arrived in Cleveland Heights Sunday, said Jerry Elliot, who saw him at the .Â
He was looking for a place to stay, so the Jewish community put him up in a hotel in Beachwood, Elliot said. Usually, people stay in a house on Bendemeer Road in Cleveland Heights, he said, but perhaps it was full.Â
Hirsch appeared to be studying at the kollel, an Orthodox Jewish center for all ages that houses classes and study groups, and was not threatening anyone, Elliot said. But he was wearing "beach clothes," not a black suit like most in the room.

"He looked like an innocent old soul," Elliot said.Â
