Where to Park in Cleveland Heights

Many Cleveland Heights residents know they can't park on city streets from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. daily. At Monday's City Council meeting, council members passed a resolution, included each year, to continue to make exceptions for certain streets and also allow permit parking in specified areas, said Councilman Kenneth Montlack.

Montlack said the list of streets that allow parking is sometimes added to from year to year, but the 2011 resolution has the same information as last year.

Here are the streets that residents can park on overnight without a permit, according to a document distributed by City Council:

• Euclid Heights Boulevard from Coventry Road to Edgehill Road
• Derbyshire Road from Euclid Heights Boulevard to Norfolk Road
• Surrey Road
• Bellfield Avenue from Cecil Court to North Park Boulevard
• Middlehurst Road from Mayfield Road to Hampshire Road
• Hampshire Road from Hampshire Lane to Coventry Road
• Grandview Avenue from Cecil Place to West St. James Parkway
• Superior Park Drive from North Taylor Road to South Compton Road
• The south side of Yorkshire Road near the 3200 block where it intersects with Lee Road 
• Norfolk Road from Cedar Road to Derbyshire Road
• Mayfield Road from Eddington Road to Coventry Road (Eddington ends when it intersects with Mayfield, and is only on one side of the street)

Residents and property owners on Kensington Road between Lee and Cottage Grove roads can buy a $30 permit each month to park overnight on the specified section or at the municipal parking lot on the north side of Silsby Road just east of Lee Road.

Those who live on Hillcrest, Belmar, Glenmont and Eddington roads between Mayfield and Avondale roads can also park on the streets in the specified area if they buy overnight permits for $30 a month. 

An exception to the parking ban is also made for doctors making emergency calls.
