CCESC kicks off three robotics leagues (salemnews.net) — Students from Columbiana are suiting up their robots as countywide VEX leagues for high school, middle school, and elementary teams launch their 2025–26 seasons. Columbiana squads will compete in multiple rounds through February, and residents are invited to come cheer these young engineers on.
   

2. High school scoreboard – Dec. 13, 2025 (tribtoday.com) — Columbiana boys basketball edged South Range 54-53 behind Hunter Davanzo’s 14 points and nine rebounds, including seven clutch points in the fourth quarter. The wider roundup also highlights other area boys and girls basketball results and a strong Howland wrestling performance.
   

3. Nancy L. Witman, Columbiana, Ohio (wkbn.com) — Columbiana readers are saying goodbye to 82-year-old Nancy L. Witman, a longtime Negley resident who spent her later years in Columbiana and leaves children and grandchildren in the community. Friends may call Thursday at Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine, with burial to follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
   

4. Jury trial remains set for Wellsville man charged with attempted murder (morningjournalnews.com) — A Columbiana County jury trial is still set for Jan. 5 in Lisbon for a Wellsville man charged with attempted murder in an April shooting that injured a juvenile. He remains jailed on high bond, has rejected a plea deal, and also faces a separate weapons charge tied to an alleged incident at the Columbiana County jail.
   

5. New chief humane officer says he's ready for role (wytv.com) — Animal lovers in Columbiana County will soon see a new face leading local welfare efforts as longtime humane officer and veterinarian Fabian Pike becomes Chief Humane Officer on December 18. Based in Lisbon, he plans to expand services, convert an on-site building into a training and enrichment center, and focus on getting more animals into stable, well-prepared homes.
