Ohio STEM Students Participate In Batelle's Opioid Abuse Crisis Showcase

Battelle: On May 18, students from around the Ohio STEM Learning Network will gather at Battelle to showcase their creative solutions to Ohio’s opioid abuse crisis. The students will hear from Secretary of State Jon Husted, Attorney General Mike DeWine, State Superintendent Paolo DeMaria, and representatives from Battelle.

After very brief remarks, the students will present their findings to these leaders and the public in an open house.

More than 100 students will visit Battelle for the event, representing 1,200 Ohio students who participated in a campaign for real-world learning based on drug abuse prevention and treatment.

Students from eight Ohio schools will be represented:

• Akron North High School
• Bio-Med Science Academy
• Dayton Regional STEM School
• Metro Early College High School
• Metro Institute of Technology (MIT)
• Reynoldsburg High School- eSTEM Academy
• Reynoldsburg High School- HS2 Academy
• Ridgeview STEM Jr. High
