• Despite low rates, Coshocton jail finds no takers for extra capacity (coshoctontribune.com) — Coshocton County’s new Justice Center has dozens of empty beds, but efforts to rent that space to other jurisdictions haven’t brought in any takers, limiting hoped‑for revenue for a tight 2026 budget. With other counties also expanding their jails, officials are exploring options like federal inmates while emphasizing that any extra housing income would go straight into the county’s general fund.
   

• Two men arrested in Ohio after explosive device prompts bomb squad response, guns and drugs found (wtrf.com) — Coshocton deputies called in the Franklin County Bomb Squad after finding a suspicious device during a Chestnut Street traffic stop, which was safely neutralized with no injuries. A same‑day search on Adams Street uncovered drugs, trafficking equipment, and stolen guns, and detectives have now filed charges as the sheriff’s office and prosecutor continue the investigation.
