As Executive Director, Kambitsch laid the groundwork to launch a major facilities plan called Libraries for a Smarter Future. This plan is now in its final stages, with the last four buildings anticipated to open in 2022 and 2023.

Throughout his time with DML, he also oversaw several programs such as Homework Help Centers, iPad lending, Career Adventures Camp, Job Seekers, and the delivery of early literacy kits through home visits.

Former and current Dayton Metro Library staff, Board of Trustee members, friends and family, and leaders in the Ohio Library community were on hand to help Kambitsch celebrate this honor.
